Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Peakio ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Peakio mobile application and this website (together, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

• Account information — email address, display name, handle and password (stored as a secure hash) when you create an account.
• Profile information — optional details you add, such as a photo, interests, experience level and goals.
• Activity data — activities you browse, RSVP to, host or complete; groups and challenges you join; messages you send in activity and group chats.
• Location data — approximate or precise location, only with your permission, used to show activities near you. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
• Device data — device model, operating system version and app version, used for diagnostics and support.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Service: showing nearby activities, managing RSVPs, groups, challenges and chat.
• To keep the community safe: enforcing our terms, moderating reported content and preventing abuse.
• To communicate with you: service updates, RSVP confirmations and — only if you opt in — notifications.
• To improve the Service: aggregated, de-identified usage analysis.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Where your data lives

Your data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, in data centres located in the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

4. Sharing

Your display name, handle, photo and trust level are visible to other users in the context of activities, groups and chats you participate in. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate the Service (hosting, push notifications), under contracts that restrict their use of it. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA or UK), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and its data directly in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or by contacting us.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.

7. Children

Peakio is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will notify you in the app.
